Omahu School, a small rural school of just 40 students, faced immense challenges in the wake of Cyclone Gabrielle. The school was left devastated, but thanks to a shared commitment between the Ministry of Education and the local community, a full rebuild was quickly set in motion.
Portacom was proud to support this rebuild with the supply, delivery and installation of high-quality offsite manufactured buildings. Designed to meet the Ministry’s performance standards, these modular classrooms enabled a faster, more efficient build, helping the community recover and re-open their school with minimal delay.
The project marks a significant milestone for Omahu School - a symbol of strength and forward thinking. Through close partnership with the Ministry and the local community, we delivered on time, on budget and to scope, ensuring the new school facilities will support generations of tamariki to come.
More than just buildings, this project represents what’s possible when we come together to rebuild stronger, smarter and faster.
